apparently, it's possible to buy every possible item from NPC merchants now. What the l33t h@x0r does is change the item ID packet to whatever they want. Like:
when you open a shop, server returns items you can buy, like sword, tsurugi, shield, etc...
user would "normally" respond with "buy me item 'sword'"
haxor changes that command into "buy me a 'tiara'" or bunny hairband, damascus, santa hat, etc...
you know how cards are sold for 1z? These people can buy them for 2z 
now that this information seems to be well known, I would assume that the economy will go even further down... and a server reset most likely *will* come from this (hopefully when things are FIXED though!  I'd bother me once a novice earns 2 zeny that they can go buy a damascus for themselves  ) |

yeah, but it doesn't work with other items, like you can't buy a pot from a weapons vender.
[edit] btw, you can buy the RPS in the payon shop w/o a hack now, at least on loki.

| Sasami i've already made a hack to buy things from npc but i belive it's been patch so that u can only buy items that the npc is selling. What it was made for was the ring por-thingy sword that u couldn't buy because of glitch. So don't waste your time trying to buy nija suits or necklaces form npc it's not possible yet... |

thats what i ment, that it didnt work now. I don't know if it ever worked b/c i hadn't tried that yet. you should have tried to buy a balmung or osi/baph doll if it really worked  makes it hard to believe you really had it working if you don't have those. |

If you could change an item id from your inventory couldnt you in theory have any item you wanted?
like, changing feather to balmung for example.

Sasami, have you checked this yourself? because, I just dropped my merch into payon quick (nothing better to do with most of loki down) and wasn't able to get one. You still get the same old "the deal is successful" but no "you got RPS 1 ea" message after it, and no RPS in your inv.

well in that case just use a hack to get it Raveus. U can even do it without any external programs too as long as u have one RPS u can buy others, by opening the buy window and quickly clicking on the same npc before the window pops up and click sell. Funny looking, i was able to buy things i was selling. And u can buy multiples, for instance 3 cotten shirts in one icon. =)

I heard that it was actually only one specific shop that did this. Not sure which one tho...
Also, you can only buy items that can be bought at shops.

That would make sense, because in most of the shops, at least, the client won't allow you to attempt to start buying/selling again after you've clicked a store NPC, at any stage. Now, someone who was more bored than me could prolly hack it so that it doesn't do that, but then again it would prolly be faster to just write a little prog to let you buy stuff. Of course, with everything that is currently visible in the stores supposedly buyable now, there isn't much value in pursuing this.
