I just sent a note to all the mods

"you don't have to mod anymore if you do not wish to, I am sending this message to all the mods, I may as well just let the forum run wild *Sighs* I give up on everything. I even feel like taking the page down now...."

I havn't visited these forums in a couple of weeks, nor any other ragnarok site and i don't want to force the mods to spend their time working on this forum when i no longer care about it. I may decide to take everything down in a few weeks if noone cares. I'll revisit this thread in a weeks time to see the discussion. It's up to yall if it stays or goes.

Uhm I care... I've always liked this forum, but I would understand if you were taking down the whole server or something similiar to that...

Betatesting of course proceeds on course for the most part. OC bots have eliminated the apparent need to betatest OC, but have brought up the question of whether an in-game calculator should be added. (or rather I have suggested it). It would make a good addition and negate the need for OC bots.

I'm assuming more serious betatesting will proceed when beta2 comes out in July. I'm simply happy they listened to my suggestion and updated their bbs policy awhile back (less engrish, actual reference to scripting) and posted a betatester agreement. That was very smart. Now they have more legal leverage.

i seriously doubt the oc calc will stop oc bots. like any other bot, the loser in front of the computer doesn't need to even be there to make money. it's bad enough my oc merc has no chance anymore, the other person can go to bed, go to hockey practice, go eat dinner and make money... just not fair... i do think an oc calc would be great, then i wouldn't have to bust out my calc and my oc charts.

Well... if I have at least one mod who is willing to stay I won't worry about it, i'll just leave it up and ignore it all like I have been. Never mind. I just didn't want to dump it on the mods like I had right after I gave them the positions, which ended up happening. I have been betrayed and tormented from people and friends all over the ragnarok community and I am not going to be giving ragnarok another thought after this, nor this site. *sighs*

The Ragnarok community has been very stressful and definitely a pure example of the dark side of online gamming communities. Sasami, whatever they say is totally irrelevent. It is honourable for DaiSHi to stay here to help you monitor the boards. In times, I do too come just to make sure nothing has gone wrong. If you Sasami take a leap of faith that knowing sooner or later all bad things come to an end, you know there is hope. Your spirit will guide all throughout anarchy to peace and order. Set an example, set a legacy for all to follow and thus people shall follow.

I still go here every now and then, but not as much as before since you decided to stop supporting the exp viewer. Not that I blame you, I sure as hell wouldn't want to support anything dealing with something I was totally fed up with either.

Sasami, if you want i could try to update the EXP program. I'm not exactly a pro but i'm sure that with a little bit (very little) of guidance i could become good at it.

If anything, I'd ask that you keep the forums up. Most of us by now have all the stuff off the webpage and playing RO itself is people's personal descisions. I've only been logging on for a few mins at a time to sell a cartload of 2 of 15z reds or other cheap ass pots. Personaly I find these forums have some of the best users in the community and just in general on them. You can ask RO or non RO questions and get intelagent answers most of the time. I know that I check these forums more then most other RO websites and even if it was changed in look/name i'd like to have them stay.

meh, I wouldn't say that this site is going to "anarchy"... in fact I would just say that less people visit it as often

unless the site is costing you money you want to put elsewhere, then why not just keep it up
or just change the content. You can always make this a website about anything else you want with an RO section on the side

As for myself in ragnarok, after I reinstalled to Win2k, I haven't reinstalled RO since and am not planning on it until beta 2 (in july) because that's when gravity says they'll focus on ebeta a bit more. As for this website, I make a habit of visiting at least once a week

As for yourself sasami, if it seems more like Ragnarok just keeps giving you more and more stress even though you stopped trying to involve yourself with it, then maybe you really should either change your site, or just get rid of it ~_^
Although an unpopular idea, there's no reason to keep something that stresses you out

yea, i wouldn't mind if this forum were turned into just a general programming/ modding / reverse engineering forum. i wouldn't be able to give too much advice, but i'll be around.

p.s. i finally got this damn computer to boot again... i pray it's because my vid card fan was clogged with dust... i'll have to wait and see. and i figured i needed a router rather than my cheap hub to get this comp to use my cable connection. this comp is finally back in business... for now

I still read the forum from time to time since i´m very busy with exams right now.
(playing ro is out of the question...)
I feel like there's still alot of interest in the forum, I particulary like the general programming/ reverse engineering sections since I dont play ro that much and I want to make my own mini rpg with directX (learning phase right now).
well, I dont have more time, g2g.

Actually, andrew lamoth (or however you spell his last name) wrote a book called "Programming Role Playing Games With DirectX". It's not that bad of a book either, it even covers the networking needed to create MMO games. Definately a lack of decent graphics engines though, and nothing at all on cool special effects like water...but a good starting point!

Pragma: Hehe I just picked up that book (Programming RPG's with DirectX) and spent the last day skimming it, as I don't have time to dive into making a full game right now. It's got a lot of good pointers and examples in there and just the section on how to do a design document( basicly if you have an idea for a game and want to pitch it) was a really interesting read. There's a few more books in this *** with DirectX series, I know 1 covers a lot of 3D effects and the fancy real time graphics.

allways hard to discuss such things, but I'll give it a try, I think everybody agree on this one thing. do what ever makes you happy, it's your server and your money, you have allready been most generous. so the question is, what do you feel is right?

as for things becomming anarchy, I doubt it, just about every visiter are decent people, with the occasional irritating guy, but they don't stick around. I doubt it will turn into ragnarok world....

I'd like this forum. I'd like Ro. I like Sasami I'd never met :-)) but ... please don't forget:

Good people, normally, stick together. When the bad guy are wiped away.. you'll find a new shining group of friends. Give us a wayto stay together, to stay in contact... dont put down this site ...(Sure.. if not necessary for you!)

I understand pretty well Sasami's mood ....

BUT

please don't forget us ... the good people who apreciated you !

Some silly guys ( how many they can be) can make you forget the good ones..
Yes, you can argue they left the game ... some of them left the "aggregation place".

Now are you so sure of yourself ( hmmm, yourselves - speaking to all the readers of this thread) ... you will not come back running (when and if) to a Ro.world clean and neat ??

AlainCh ( I stay on ... I wait and hope..... and I think often of you Sasami.

I've done what I can already and most you people ahev done everything I'm sure.
Now it rests on Sasami's decision. Does she truly want to leave the experience or does she have a small feeling that she might regret it?]
