Okay I know someone asked about this on another thread, but they didn't get a reponce and I don't remember the place 
Anyways... .Hack//Sign (.hack) is a GREAT anime/sudo-MMO/OVA. It's a RPG for the PS2 that comes with the 40 minute OVA. 2 dvd's for the price of one... why it's a sudo-MMO is because it's a standard RPG BUT it's set in a MMO game. You are controling people controling characters inside a MMO. A GREAT MMO that should be a real online game, but that's another story. Without giving too much away it dives into what computer/AI's are, what an online intelegance whould be, differences between the online and real world... and a lot more. The OVA is what is happening in the real world, while others are online playing the game. The Game (from what I heard from the director) is a mix of being online in "the world" and what's happening in RL while your there... and the Anime (13 eps) is purely what's happening in "the world". The PS2 game is suposto be out in either Dec 2002, or spring 2003. The Anime is being dubbed right now and should be appearing in stores early 2003... they were hopeing for Dec, but dosn't look like it will happen.
This is on of the better, and higher rated anime series, to come out last spring. The Music (you can buy the OST 1 now, or be cheap and download it  GRR )is just awsome... same person that did Noir. Also the same director as Noir did .hack.
Order goes Anime/Game/OVA if you want to watch/play it in order.
I think i'll steal... err barrow the idea of calling it "The World" for my game... can't think of a good name anyways |

| Wasn't Lain about a living entity within the web? I dunno I never finished it, I unfortunately only rented the first half at my local anime store. According to my friend the first half is long and boring and the rest rocks. lol just my luck. |

hehe, hack is cool 
If any of you can get the latest episodes *cough* there was a really cool battle between the assassin and the heavy swordsman that I'm sure anyone would like to see 
If I owned a PS2 (maybe eventually) I'd sure like to get the game for it, mainly because it's a totally unique genre that they're using. It plays like a massively multiplayer game except that it's not online at all. All the people around you are AI. A pretty neat concept if you ask me |

Yes Bandai has the license... like I said they are trying to get it out as fast/close to the game as possible. Umm there's only 13 eps in the TV series... at least that's what the director said, and that's all the dvd's from japan go up to Maybe it's 15 and they just havn't listed the final one. or they are counting the ova in there.
Oh for those of you that don't know... under fansub rules, if it's licensed for your area (IE Bandai owns ALL rights outside of japan for .hack) then it's illegal to have the fansub/digisub of it. Unless of course you import the japanese DVD Oh yea, you can also own it if you have writen premission from Bandai... like for an anime club showing. This is why elite-fansubs stopped digisubbing .hack... and some stuiped hotline users kept doing it.
*grins* SUCH pretty box art!!! Bandai better release it in the us... well either way i've got a kickass box for it.
