think of newsgroups as like a very simple kind of bulletin board, kinda like a forum... except without fancy stuff.

You're gonna need a newsreader if you wanna browse newsgroups. Not only that, you have to configure the newsreader so that it connects to a newsgroup server.
Better choose a good server. Different newsgroup servers provide different newsgroups. I remember connecting to a microsoft server. It downloaded fairly quickly, but it only had microsoft newsgroups. No anime stuff...
I dunno, I haven't connected to one recently but I do know it was hard to find a good free server.

is check out some site about newsgroups....
when i click on the links....it always bring up my microsoft outlook express email account....do i type my message in there and then it gets posted or something...
i'm sorry but i don't have a clue about how this works
can some one please help me ....thanks

yea, you're gonna need some kinda program to use newsgroups. outlook is probably an easy choice. fill out all the information it asks you and you'll dl all the newsgroups of the url you inputted. i had to use newsgroups for my comp sci class.
btw i see sasami has a new avatar.

I used a newgroup before. I forgot where I got the program. It was good since I liked downloading at 200kbps-1mbps. I had a website of anime newsgroups though I delete the link and program. :x

Woah, what server did you use Ysuki? I couldn't get above 50k/s on an @home server. Took me like 20 mins to get an episode...but I couldn't wait to watch some of em...
