well i downloaded neocron and it is very cool. its in beta testing, phase 4, and it seems like they are doing a good job fixing bugs and such as they come along. it is 1st person, which makes it fun, but pretty much everything about the game is confusing. i am currently lost in the city and cant find my why anywhere but i managed to kills a few monsters and it was fun. still havnt found out how to sell my loot yet.... if anyone who reads this already plays neocron, do you think you could help me out a bit?
anyway, back to playing =)

yes the download was quite large, but it was not a pain because i use a download resume program, and i just resumed the download whenever i was on my computer. took like 3 days like 1 hr each day.

from what ive heard..... its only for 18 and over because theres strip bars.

lol yeah it does but its not even obsene because.... um its just models made in 3ds max or some other 3d animator app.... who would wanna see that? 
and if anything, i think it wouldd be the language that would make it inappropriate for childrin. i spoke w/ an npc that said get out of here, and one of the responses i can pick was shut up bastard... it was tempting so i clicked it and the npc replied "f**k you, f**king motherf**ker" lol.
anyway, i have been playing the game some more and the way you lvl up is cool. there is 6 catigorys to lvl up... Dexterity, Constitution, PSI, Strength, Inteligence, and.... somthing else i cant remember (or was it 5 catigorys?) anyway, say if you want to lvl up your strength, you would fight a lot, or if you wanted to raise your int, you would hack a lot (you can hack into locked places =))... and if you wanted to raise constitution you would run a lot (instead of useing the subway), dex is also raised by fighting.
so far its been worth the download, so i think everyone should try it =)

Took awhile, but I finally got the massive thing installed and running. 
As lagwagon said, Neocron is VERY confusing! It lacks the simplicity some other games have such as RO and D2. Still interesting though. Killing little spideys and rats with iron knuckles is fun.

Private Eye - the costume I picked makes my avatar look like a Matrix fanboy... and of all things I start with iron knuckles which have no spikes! Where's the pointy sticks? Better yet, I need someone to show me how to load depleted uranium bullets into a gun...

a week? bummer. well im sure my play scedule will change cuz school is starting and all... but do you use a gun already?? heh im still too n00b to use one. anyway i play on pluto (convinient cuz its the default selected server, so i dont have to click the one i want, just press enter) and my alias is lagwagon
oh yeah and i said 1-2 hrs a day, thats only like 4 days a week. other days im playin other games or doin "real world" stuff like skating or surfing (there were some nice swells at the beach today btw) or im doin chores =(

Played it already. Laggy as heck where I'm from. T_T I kept dying by lag.
Better play soon, this game ships in early october (like the 6th or 8th). I don't know whether to believe there was a p-wipe a day or two ago. I do know that there was a p-wipe scheduled for the 24th. As soon as the game ships, you have to buy the box to continue playing.
Beta players have an advantage right now, they can become founders. If you preorder the game, you become a founder. You get to level your char for 1 week before the game goes public.
Personally, I didn't feel like playing till my character got wiped. The lag pissed me off way too much.
G'luck though, it's kinda like privateer (one of my fave game series). And if you wanna earn quick money, find the trading booth...something like Crazy Bob's or something and look at the trade contacts. There's one on almost every space station or planet.
