This is the follow up to Asheron's call... a not to great game from microsoft. Basicly this is the same world, but a long time latter and after a few great disasters... kinda cool because you can find old places from the first game in runes  You can sign up for the beta and hope you get accepted, or you can go get a copy of Computer Games Mag this month and it's got a free account on the included CD.
This game is just magnifacant. The trees sway, rain bounces off characters and buildings, water reflects and rolls into shore with little waves, and the list goes on. The gameplay is kind of standard MMO stuff, but you can actully change your character from a melee to magic user (and back) or whatever you want latter in the game once you are high levels. You can do this without a penalty, so it's very nice if you misplace skill points or just want to try a different style of play.
Just be sure you have a good computer/3d card... this game looks SO amazing at maxed graphics, but it still looks killer set on low. |

yes i heard about this game... looks really cool i was going to get it on fileplanet (you get the download and an account) but you have to be a suscriber of the personal server thing =(
but my buddy has a personal server account so he said he'll download it and give it to me on disk =)

It's easyer to go pick up the magazine... I saw one guy buy 15 of them! |

lol 15? maby he intended to wait untill the beta was closed... then he would sell them for 3 times the price. quite a clever idea methinks

| Well the beta is closed.... they only came in the first run of the Mag and like the first 5000 fileplanet users to download it got in. They are shooting for around 10000 players total... which right now they've got a constant 1000-2000 on the servers. Also another 500 that play the server that gets pwiped about once a week! |

just wondering... does anyone have an account who tried the game and didnt like it? well if your not gunna play ever again you know i'd really like to give it a try =P
