From Pak0 site:

Payment Except Credit Card NOT allowed 21.Nov.2002 - 21:33 CET
S0LiDsNaKe
Hello this is IRO GM Team.
This is one more information of the way to pay the maintenance fee.
1.Debit card and other cards(even though Visa or Master printed on them)
are not considerable to register.
2.One Credit Card can not be used for Multiple accounts no matter what the reason is.
We chose the Credit Card Payment system to check your real identification,
to protect innocent players from immature ones having impure thoughts and
to gather genuine personal information, NOT only for the maintenance fee.
Please be fully aware of this information.
We do not response to the inqury asking articles above.
Thank you for the cooperation.

IRO GM Team,
Gravity Corp.

Before we re-open our iRO service, we deeply apologize for long delay and qualities of the service for past few months.
In addition to that, we decided to charge testers the minimum service maintenance fee, such as Servers maintenance, Internet backbone lines, Server programs, etc.
for more stabilized service and to eliminate bug users, BOT users and hackers, unidentified users who were taking advantages of anonymous registrations.
Also we delete previous account information in order to stabilize player's identity so that we could reduce unfaithful players using bugs and hacks.
From Closed Beta Test 2, we promise that all the account information shall remain even after our commercial service.

Thank you.

Forgive the hard skepticism, but I'd rather see it up on the front page of the official site.

watashiwa might be an ass at times although I'm pretty sure he's no liar.

So if this news is true, see you folks on RO in December.

Let's see... I can either get that as a bday present for a year... or a new vid card and *cough* play it.

If they haven't encrypted it yet, then by the end of the month won't there already be a sim out for it? O.o?

by volunteers do they mean beta testers, who have to pay... if it is... its not really volunteer since eeer we're paying.

Well i'm in class right now reading my A+ book ready to pass out then wow i was like WTF they updated their website... for once gravity has announced something useful.

As for the 10 dollars a month its not bad considering its two months, however not many will be able to pay for it since not everyone will have a credit card, which kinda sux for some of the younger gamers. Anyways i'm gonna go cry over the loss of my lvl 56 wizard now =(.........

AFter all the crap Gravity has done to us, I don't know why I'm going back to them. Dangit, if that company did not have a good game, they would be SO SCREWED.

Now we get to test the theory...will the lamers actually stop playing if they have to pay?

It seems likely that the quality of service should improve service, but we're talking about gravity here. Ah well, keep the nonfluent GM's, they gave the game a foreign feel

As for the young people, I'm sure they can convince their parents.

what worries me is that some of the good people who play can't play, mostly because they don't have access to a credit card. some are in germany, other's in singapore... lot of people are scrambling to get info on getting cards or opening checking accounts to get a check card... we'll just hafta see if the theory holds

edit: btw, i'll just leave this one stickied instead of the other one, since this thread holds the most current official word from Gravity and i don't feel like cutting and pasting the letter and making another post.

The mage is only like that so he can get all the skills.

... they encrypted their packets in Kro. Another reason they might have shut down for 3 months. Encrypt it step by step then, and they're a whole buncha steps ahead of the Iro hackers.

Hey! Many new notices on the official RO website. I'm afraid I don't know the web address of the official site though. I just use this.

One of the notices list a ton of new stuff added to RO. I'm not really sure what they mean Episode 1.0 and 1.5...

BTW, you should be able to check if you're registered or not.

Sigh, Server's Up. Have fun whoever registered!
