| I used the GRF2 extractor and it extracted, but the program doesn't seem to be affecte by what's in the directory. Why? |

| i was told a few weeks back that gravity made it default to not check /data first anymore on Kro, so I guess they implemented it on IRO. |

If that, then they would also need something to lie about the size of the file.
Sasami is going to make a GRF2 recompressor or at least point us in the direction of one ^^?

| i am? wha? i deleted RO off my computer forever and refuse to reinstall it no matter the circumstance, sowwy ^^; i doubt anyone really has such a thing yet, but just wait a bit and hopefully someone will. It shouldnt be too hard with the current tools already out there (the grf source code for beta 1 and xor tables (i think) for beta 2) |

I wonder what the average compression ratio is for gravity's .grf files is...
I bet is just slightly modified zip format, or perhaps cab...

| i dont play ragnarok anymore, i dont have it installed on my computer, i dont have an account, nor do i wish to have any of these 3 things happen. i appologize but i dont know what or what doesnt work in it anymore. i mainly just leave this page up now for reference and open discussion, but theres not much i can do anymore, i have moved on. |

it isnt zip. it uses zlib - so maybe it is XORed Gzip . and of course it have special header - Master of Magic 
in grf 1 only hex was modified. 4eg. A4 5C 22 => 4A C5 22
grf2 uses 5 diferent xor tables
