| It's pretty easy to sum up what cristy needed to do. Manage her time. Should have had time for bugs/reports, and time for user complaints, for things that overlap the two (user bugs), and lastly the rest. Well that's a very simple version, but you get the idea. I mean please what good gm will totaly handle user complaints and not handle bugs? It sucks that they don't have the source on site to change though. |

Well, nobody's perfect. Christy is a human being, after all. People tend to react to complaints as priority by "default". Sure, she's not necessarily the greatest GM in the world, or the most intelligent, etc. etc, but at least she cares and does the best she can.
She has help now though, so things should turn around increasingly as the new Sub GMs get used to their jobs and the servers, work away at the (enormous!) backlog of messages and support requests, and get the bugs turned in and fixed.
As far as the regional operators not having source... It's one of the happy coincidences that has saved Gravity's bacon so far. Can you imagine what would have happened if Gameflier had AEGIS source code when they were broken into?

Here in Malaysia (you know that little line in the world map between Thailand and Singapore? yes, it's there. It's ironic we have the 3rd tallest tower in the world and CNN still things we live on coconut trees. What nut cases), Gravity has presented another beta Ragnarok Online server. There is the English-language server - Iris server and Penril server and the Malay-language server (not sure server names, not playing in them yet).
It's to my opinion that not everyone who's being blamed for trying to steal something or just anything from Gravity is having sincere intention to steal in the first place.
There are the half-baked programming kiddies who try to get the easy way out of gaming fun.
Then there are lamers, scammer, etc. (there are tons of other names for them) who are like scorpions in the 'Scorpion and Turtle' story, coz it's their nature. They can't help it.
Then there are also people who believe (or partially believe) that all software programs built by a human being will definitely contain bugs, glitches and loop-holes. Based on this school of thought, one group of techno-geeks will try to make not only Gravity but any other software company feel the wrath and agony of their trigger-happy hacking fingers. There is also the other group that do it for the sake of knowledge and further improve themselves to be better programmers - knowledge colectors.
Now, most (if not all) software companies can only make money if they hold back those priceless information everyone else is try to seek to learn. But most of the time, these companies are charging exhorbitant prices for these knowledges. Not everyone can afford such imbecile pricings price tagged not by programmers most of the time, but by the marketing folks -> in the name of business.
So, tell me? what form of stealing are you refering to here cnsidering the fact the pricey closed source programs vs. the cost efficient open source programming is an endless war (at least till humans begin to quit think of the word computer programming - hah, like hell that's gonna happen!)
