*cough* err... anyway. I think the real problem is that this game is not something that should ever have been an open beta, in the US, at least, or not for another few months, anyway. Or it needed to be closed much sooner, or even just now. You let the public push and prod at something like this at a point when you are willing and able to commit all your resources to plugging exploits and tightening code, not when you're still developing most of the game. Sure, there's a lot here so far, but the distance to what is discussed as the complete project is staggering, as is the lack of polish that shows through in a number of areas. *shrugs* maybe they needed to show that there was interest even at this early a date, for investment purposes. Who knows.
Heh, I think they need to at least get the website logins using ssl before they think about fully encrypting the protocol or anything that demanding. And I know they have either j or k-beta (or both) using nProtect for RO itself, not just on the 'site. It wouldn't be a full solution, but depending on how it works it might at least make things rather difficult for botting.
As to the pak0 admins... *shrugs* as I've said there, I don't really care.. it's their board, if I had some burning need to discuss things they don't allow, I'd find someplace else. If they sometimes waver a bit this way and that... well, it's always nice to find someone even less perfect than myself  They sometimes seem... a bit slow, tho. Like with some of the swear filters (on the board itself, look like poorly built regexps). And the html incidents... I even offered to help, but... *shrugs* never got a reply, even

A arrogant person who believes their beliefs and opinions hold more weight than annothers' simply because they fancy themselves as being a better person when in actuallality, they are very sensitive to criticizm and cannot function whatsoever in stressful enviroments to the point that they avoid them simply because they cannot work in places where they could be wrong.
